About

On the person behind the archive.

I am an electronics hobbyist and a lifelong learner — a collector of technical and historical materials, a former student of several Cleveland Institute of Electronics courses, and someone interested in preserving older technical education and intellectual history.

I believe learning does not have to end when formal schooling ends. This site is my attempt to keep a disciplined record of that belief: a place where curiosity is allowed to wander, but not to get lost.

What you find here is personal and non-commercial. I do not claim expertise in every subject I study — only the patience to study it, and the honesty to say when I do not yet understand.

Professional background, formal education, and a fuller list of interests and projects will be added here in time. Nothing is invented before it is true.

  • Electronics, vintage computing, HP calculators, correspondence-school history, philosophy, theology, Coptic and Egyptian history, the Great Books.
  • Restoration, reconstruction, cataloging, and learning by doing.
  • Research in Progress.

The Independent Scholar

Curiosity without a curriculum.

A personal record of things studied, built, repaired, collected, questioned, and occasionally understood.

Set in EB Garamond, Libre Baskerville, and IBM Plex Mono. Designed in the spirit of a Renaissance notebook read by the light of an electronics bench.
